Connies Cafe, Pullman Sydney Airport, Mascot (30 July 2016)

191 O'Riordan Street, Mascot NSW 2020

Connies Cafe arriving soon

I was hoping Connies Cafe was going to be open on the weekend for a coffee fix before my daughters ballet class but looks like they might only be open for weekdays during their soft opening week. Located under the Pullman Sydney Airport the fit out looks promising and hopefully the coffee with match.

Fossix Coffee, CBD Sydney (28 July 2016)

130 Pitt Street, Sydney NSW 2000

John Smith comes to town

Fossix Coffee is the sister store to John Smith Cafe. Really enjoyed my Cappuccino ($3.50) using Seasonal House Blend. Friendly barista really knows what his doing. Nice flavour and strength. There's a good variety of cakes and pastries to tempt with most of them made in house except for the famous gluten free cakes from Little Secrets Bakehouse. Limited seating but enough to have a quick bite or coffee solo or with a mate. Friendly staff, nice fit out and some reasonably priced breakfast and lunch eats on the menu. Thanks @a_man_and_his_sandwich for the coffee tip.

Reuben Hills in the CBD

Love the foyer space here with such a high ceiling. Service is friendly and efficient and doing good things for a coffee fix from the makers of Reuben Hills in Surry Hills. My Cappuccino ($4) was good and served in a lovely hand made cup that warms your hand with the heat of the coffee. Muffins ($5) are baked daily in house and a good side to share. Also spotted Penny Fours croissants.

Tailor Espresso Bar, Maroubra (23 July 2016)

Shop 6, 237 Maroubra Road, Maroubra NSW 2035

Good coffee in small places

Had a very good Cappuccino ($3.50) using Single Origin Roasters coffee here. It's a very small space with limited seating and a limited menu. Think coffee, milkshakes, banana bread and cheese toasty. Babyccino was free and came as all froth in a paper cup which I prefer and also included a marshmallow — happy days for the 1 year old. The fit out uses the space wisely and includes some nice rustic and homely features to make you feel comfortable. Pleasant window view of a tree lined side street. Would definitely return for a decent coffee.

Iggy's Bread, Bronte (24 July 2016)

131 Macpherson Street, Bronte NSW 2024

Artisan bakery HQ in Bronte

I've often heard about the famous Iggy's that's been considered by many as making some of the best sourdough bread you can find in Sydney. Was great to stumble across their main bakery while having a walk around Bronte. It's also great to see them stocking a few quality artisan products from the likes of Miellerie Honey, Alto Olive Oil, Pic's Peanut Butter, Pasta Emilia, Jam Lady Jam, Meredith Dairy and Artisana Organics.
