Papparoti's first Aussie store

PappaRoti is a Malaysian franchise commonly found in Asia (Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul and more) and PappaRoti Kogarah will be the first branch of the franchise to be opened in Australia. To mark this occasion, they are giving away FREE buns to all customers on Grand Opening Day (limit one per customer, but they said you can line up again). Throughout the Grand Opening Week, there will be a BUY ONE FREE ONE promotion. The PappaRoti bun is described as a ‘Crispy, fluffy, fragrant coffee-cream coated bun with a buttery filling’. The first and only time I've tried one of these was back in Malaysia in April 2007. They remind me of Puffy Bubble Tea in Campsie.

I was wondering who else got the invite. Looks interesting enough to catch the train down to Kogarah!

hi john, i reckon most of the food bloggers might have received the details. i'm hoping everyone that likes this style of bun will turn up to try them. i'm curious about them so might see you there if you go but will be near the end of the day.

hi kristy, hope you get to try them. sounds like they are quite popular overseas.

hi laura, let's hope the flavour delivers as well.

hi joey, looking forward to your post about them if you get to go. i can hardly remember what they taste like though overseas.

hi anonymous, i'm always looking out for a good affogato so i might have to get one to wash the bun down :-)

I was curious to try them after seeing them on your blog. I was in the area yesterday so went there especially. They taste good and the smells wafting from the place are amazing. I'm not sure whether there'd be enough passing trade for them at Kogarah though and at this site particularly. A bit far to go for them, especially since they don't sell any other products apart from the buns.

hi j bar, so glad you got time to check it out. sounds pretty yummy although i think as you say they are a bit too far away for most people to pass by. i wonder why they chose kogarah of all places? i can't imagine there's a huge malaysian population there as well.
