Expensive pho lacks taste

Chicken pho was very large but the broth wasn't that hot and was quite weak on taste and very expensive compared to other eateries around town. Had to ask for chilli and hoison sauce and proper soup spoons which should have been provided without asking. Decor and seating was clean and quite nice although I have a feeling this place if more suited to the western market and taste. The Prawn and pork noodle soup (pictured) was better on the taste factor and very similar to a Har Mee but again quite expensive compared to say Malay-Chinese which is much cheaper and better on taste. I guess where this restaurant is located must have very high rent and it's quite a large space so this is obviously affecting the menu prices. I probably won't be rushing back soon but I might given them another chance one day to try their Vietnamese salads.

Mi quang (Thursday and Friday only): Prawn & pork noodle soup $15.90

Pho ga: Chicken rice noodle soup $14.90

I went to a restaurant called Indochine in Christchurch and it was fantastic. This cafe looks quite comfortable though. Shame about the food.
