The Golden Sheaf Hotel: Bar & Bistro, Double Bay (17 Oct 2009)

429 New South Head Road, Double Bay NSW 2023

Tables as scarce as hen's teeth

The Golden Sheaf would have to be the most popular place in Double Bay for drinking which unfortunately makes it really hard to find a table to eat if you're intending to dine — it would be great if they had allocated seating for diners. Tonight we find the only small table left upstairs amongst the very loud and predominately young crowd to try and precariously balance 3 meals ordered from the bistro. We're happy with our tasty meals and I enjoy my Twice cooked crisped skin half duck with pear, rocket and ricotta salad for $25 (pictured above).

Other visits to The Golden Sheaf Hotel:
17 Oct 2009 - Twice cooked crisped skin half duck, Prawn spaghettini, Smoked lamb salad
17 July 2009 - Prawn spaghettini

Prawn spaghettini and cured chilli, garlic, lemon, rocket and parsley $22

Smoked lamb salad and roast pumpkin, baby spinach, yoghurt cheese and pinenuts $22
